Detective Christopher M. DeLeon: Dallas Police Department

Detective DeLeon has been with the Dallas Police Department for 11 years. He has served as a Patrol Officer, Operation Disruption Officer, Crime Response Team member, and Firearm Training Instructor After promoting to Senior Corporal, he was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division where he has been in the Narcotics Unit, Auto Theft Unit, Child Exploitation Unit and is currently assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Currently, Detective DeLeon is responsible for the investigation of technology facilitated child exploitation and internet crimes against children within 112 counties in North Texas.

He has conducted numerous online undercover investigations involving social networking sites, chat rooms, and peer to peer file sharing networks.

As a DPD ICAC Field Training Officer, he is responsible for the training of newly assigned ICAC detectives as well as the research and implementation of new investigative techniques for the Dallas Police Department Crimes Against Children Division. Detective Deleon oversaw the implementation of the first computer / cell phone forensic lab for the Dallas Police Department ICAC Task Force.

He has been to hundreds of hours of training related to the forensic analysis of computers and mobile devices. He holds numerous certifications to include ISP and JTAG for Mobile Device Forensics, SANS FOR585 Advanced Smart Phone Forensics, Cellebrite Certified Operator and Physical Analyst, Certified Blacklight and Mobilyze Operator and Lantern Certified Examiner. Detective DeLeon is a TCOLE Master Peace Officer and certified TCOLE Instructor. He holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Business Administration.
